The Second Cup
Have you ever thought why there are always two sides in everything? Left and right, up and down, positive and negative, in and out, right and wrong. Also, there is a choice we have to make between A and B or sometimes A, B and C. Some choices are easy peasy but some are just too difficult.
I, too, faced some difficult choices in life. When that happened, these are the most common thought that came into my mind:
A: "Well, this is my life. So, I should choose whichever benefit me the most, right?"
B: "I just want to choose what makes me happy"
C: "I'm the one who lives this life. Why do I need to think what others think?"
That is 3 most common answer for us – human.
But, let's think back to the beginning.. In the Eden, there were two trees in the middle of the garden – the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Long story short, Eve chose what she thought good for her and what made her happy (yes the evil played its part but the choices were hers to choose). Then, what happened next? She fell.
The two sides, the two choices (or more) are there for us to use our intelligence, free will, and conscience that are given to us. But, most of the time we make a choice that is best only for us. Well, we can be wrong, but He can't.
So, have we ever stop a while then think and ask the ONE who gives the intelligence, the free will, the conscience and the life in us?
